The original drive is reporting to be in good health, so I’ve left the machine as is rather than forcing an upgrade, but as ever these do perform much better with a pure SSD fitted, so there’s a choice of options below from 500GB-2TB if you wanted to have it upgraded from the off. Drive upgrade notes – The QVO vs EVO are very similar, main difference is a 3 year (QVO) vs 5 year (EVO) manufacturers warranty, both see speeds of around 450-500mbps (the SATA bus has a 600mbps limit). The NVMe drives therefore fit where the original fusion SSD blade was installed, and we typically see drive speeds around 1500-2000mbps. Real world for most the 2.5″ drive is fine.
